We don't have a database with hundreds of anonymous translators to whom jobs are randomly assigned. We work with a small team of translators who are familiar with our customers and with the required standards.

Inhouse translator (German > English)

What we are looking for

We are currently looking to recruit an inhouse German to English financial translator. Candidates must have native-speaker command of English and proven expertise in the area of accounting or financial services. The following would constitute our ideal applicant profile:

In more general terms, candidates should have a genuine interest in translation/writing, must be able to work under pressure to deadlines when necessary and be able to accept and learn from constructive criticism as part of a translation team.

Intern (Praktikant/in)

LingServe may offer temporary (three-month or six-month) internships from time to time.

The primary duty of an intern at LingServe is to act in a support role to enhance the efficiency of colleagues in translation and project management. Due to the nature of the work and our focus at LingServe on German/English translation, potential candidates must be either native English or German speakers.

 Duties include the following:

Interns are given training and hands-on experience with at least one commonly used CAT tool and are able to work on live translation projects, with feedback and support from senior translators.

Internships are available for a period of up to six months and the position is remunerated. The hours of work are negotiable and can be arranged flexibly. Age has no bearing on suitability for an internship.

We believe that those who would gain most from the experience of working as an intern at LingServe are recent Translation MA graduates or Quereinsteiger considering a career change to translation from a different walk of life.


Freelance translator

We would be interested in hearing from freelance translators who satisfy the criteria specified above for the position of inhouse German to English financial translator. 

Please note, however, that we require our freelance translators to use Transit CAT software. As we are unable to guarantee any specific volume of work, this may represent a barrier for anyone not already working with Transit.
